The Pinecrest Patriots (Southern Pines, NC) baseball trounced the host Union Pines Vikings (Cameron, NC), 9-2 in Thursday's league challenge.

The Patriots now own a 16-7 record. They take the field next when they host Central Davidson for a non-league challenge on Friday, April 25. Pinecrest will clash with a Spartans team coming off a 4-3 non-league win over Community School of Davidson (Davidson, NC). The Spartans record now stands at 18-5.

With the defeat, Union Pines drops to 8-13 on the year. The Vikings host Montgomery Central (Troy, NC) to clash with the Timberwolves in a non-league challenge on Friday, April 25. The Timberwolves go into the challenge with a record of 7-13. Montgomery Central lost 5-4 in their recent non-league challenge against Southwestern Randolph (Asheboro, NC)
