Game Summary
CARDINALS FLUSH ROYALS TO SNAP SKID
Battling through adversity, the La Salle Cardinals picked up a thrilling 5-2 victory over Christ The King at Juniper Valley Park. The win snapped La Salle's losing streak at three games and provided the Cardinals some much needed relief at the end of tough week and raised their record to 2-4. For the second consecutive outing, Cardinals pitcher Manuel Ramirez, was outstanding (W, 6IP, 6H, 2ER, 2BB & 5Ks), but this time he was able to get the win as La Salle keep their composure when the Royals made their push.
Up 3-2 going into the top of the 7th, La Salle rallied for two insurance runs thanks to a 2-RBI double by catcher, Brandon Santos, which followed a leadoff double by Kerick Tejada. Just to make things interesting, CTK, loaded the bases in the bottom of the seventh, however, Tejada, in relief of Ramirez, was able to induce a game ending fly ball to center with the tying run on first base.
