The Leyden Eagles got by the visiting Downers Grove South Mustangs softball squad by a count of 4-3 in Monday's league challenge.

Next, the Eagles meet the Berwyn/Cicero Morton Mustangs (Cicero, IL) in a West Suburban - Gold challenge, on Wednesday, May 14. Leyden will attempt to upgrade on its 10-13 season record. The Mustangs go into the challenge with a 10-10 record after their 13-3 non-league loss to De La Salle (Chicago, IL).

The Mustangs (10-13) will now prepare for their challenge against Plainfield East (Plainfield, IL). The Bengals go into the non-league challenge with a 16-11 record. In their last challenge, Plainfield East was nudged by Plainfield Central (Plainfield, IL), 8-5, in a league challenge.
