Game Summary
On senior night, the La Salle Cardinals rallied from two runs down to tie the game at two in the bottom of the sixth but gave up two runs in the top of the seventh and lost 2-4 against Bishop Loughlin on Randall’s Island. Cardinal senior, Manny Ramirez, making his last regular season home start, was on target (6IP, 2R, 2ER, 3BBs, 5Ks) and exited after 103 pitches, Yasser Calderon, started the top of the seventh took the loss in relief.
Loughlin put up runs in back-to-back innings (2nd & 3rd) on a single, a hustle play, a walk and a double before La Salle finally got on the board in the bottom of the fourth with a run of their own. In the bottom of the sixth the Cardinals got the first three batters on and tied the game on an RBI opposite field single by Calderon but were unable to gain the lead as a safety squeeze was snuffed out at the plate by Loughlin.
The Lions took the lead for good in the top of the seventh withou
