Match Summary
The Lake Balboa Varsity entered the snake pit. The Panorama Pythons showed why they have the rating they do in the LAUSD but there was a learning curve going on for LBCP. The Cougar deep defenders, Darla Wiltz & Molly Yeagley, racked up 11 & 9 digs respectively but Lake Balboa had no reply to the Python offense. The only murmur of protest from the cats was a 2 for 4 .500 showing for Athena Orujyan, otherwise the offense hit negative. Panorama serving was also superior to the Ladies of the Lake tallying 13 aces to the teal & black's 4. Darla also stood tall in the center of the passing line taking 29 of the 70 passes with an outstanding RE% of .103. Alice Moussiesse & Victoria Mejia passed for a composite 8 out of 9 receptions. Moussiesse led all LBCP passers with a solid 2.57 average. Alice also was large & in charge in set 3 with 4 kills in 7 swings at .429. That's more like it! Senior DS Britney Mendoza played hardball being one of the first Cougars to swing when it was needed most.
