California High School Basketball - Taft can't hold off McFarland

January 10, 2024: Taft, CA 93268

The McFarland Cougars basketball team scored 40 points and restricted the host Taft Wildcats to 39 in the Cougars league victory on Wednesday.

The Cougars now sport a 4-15 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Kennedy for a South Sequoia contest on Friday, January 12. McFarland will battle a Thunderbirds team coming off a 50-27 non-league loss to Foothill (Bakersfield, CA). The Thunderbirds record now stands at 7-9.

The Wildcats (5-11) will now prepare for their contest against Chavez (Delano, CA). The Titans come into the South Sequoia contest with a 6-8 record. In their last contest, Chavez edged Wasco (Wasco, CA), 63-39, in a league contest.
