The Independence Falcons tipped the host Taft Wildcats basketball team by a final score of 39-37 in Friday's non-league game.

In their next game, the Falcons face the Highland Scots (Bakersfield, CA) in a South Yosemite - Valley game, on Wednesday, January 10. Independence will attempt to move on its 5-9 season record.

With the defeat, Taft moves to 4-9 on the year. The Wildcats travel to Kennedy (Delano, CA) to face the Thunderbirds in a South Sequoia game on Wednesday, January 3.
