The St. Johnsbury Academy Hilltoppers basketball team scored 71 points and held the visiting Essex Hornets to 44 in the Hilltoppers league triumph on Thursday.

The Hilltoppers now sport a 8-2 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Champlain Valley Union for a Metro contest on Monday, January 15. St. Johnsbury Academy will battle a Redhawks team coming off a 56-48 league win over South Burlington (South Burlington, VT). The Redhawks record now stands at 8-1.
