December 29, 2023: St. Albans, VT 05478 Fans at Friday's non-league challenge between the St. Johnsbury Academy Hilltoppers (St. Johnsbury, VT) and the host Bellows Free Academy Bobwhites/Comets (St. Albans, VT), saw St. Johnsbury Academy's basketball squad hold off Bellows Free Academy by a tally of 54-51.
With the victory, St. Johnsbury Academy improves its record to 6-0 on the campaign. The Hilltoppers host Rice Memorial (South Burlington, VT) to confront the Green Knights in a Metro challenge on Tuesday, January 2. The Green Knights come into the challenge with a record of 5-0. Rice Memorial won 71-39 in their recent league challenge against Essex (Essex Junction, VT)
Next up, the Bobwhites/Comets confront the Burlington Seahorses (Burlington, VT) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, January 2. Bellows Free Academy will attempt to improve on its 4-2 season record. The Seahorses come into the challenge with a 3-3 record after their 57-44 league loss to Champlain Valley Union (Hinesburg, VT).
