New Castle Hurricanes (New Castle, PA) supporters left the game satisfied Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad triumph over the visiting Mars Fightin' Planets (Mars, PA), 66-43 in a non-league match.

With the victory, New Castle advances its record to 11-1 on the year. The Hurricanes travel to North Allegheny (Wexford, PA) to face the Tigers in a WPIAL 6A 1 match on Tuesday, January 14. The Tigers enter the match with a record of 5-7. North Allegheny lost 52-40 in their recent league match against North Hills (Pittsburgh, PA)

The Fightin' Planets now own a 7-5 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Chartiers Valley for a WPIAL 5A 4 match on Monday, January 13. Mars will face a Colts squad coming off a 92-79 league win over Blackhawk (Beaver Falls, PA). The Colts record now stands at 11-1.
