North Carolina High School Basketball - Swain County tops Highlands
January 12, 2024: Highlands, NC 28741 Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Swain County Maroon Devils (Bryson City, NC) and the host Highlands Highlanders (Highlands, NC), saw Swain County's basketball squad knock off Highlands by a count of 57-46.
With the victory, Swain County upgrades its record to 10-5 on the campaign. The Maroon Devils travel to Nantahala (Topton, NC) to play the Hawks in a 1A Smoky Mountain challenge on Wednesday, January 17. The Hawks come into the challenge with a record of 3-8. Nantahala lost 68-30 in their recent league test against Cherokee (Cherokee, NC)
The Highlanders now own a 2-12 record. They play next when they host Cherokee for a 1A Smoky Mountain test on Wednesday, January 17. Highlands will encounter a Braves squad coming off a 68-30 league win over Nantahala (Topton, NC). The Braves record now stands at 7-6.
