The Independence Knights basketball team scored 62 points and held the host Liberty Redhawks to 59 in the Knights league triumph on Friday.

The Knights now sport a 8-14 record. They put it on the line next when they host Heritage for a 5A Region II District 10 contest on Tuesday, January 16. Independence will meet a Coyotes team coming off a 65-64 league win over Walnut Grove (Prosper, TX). The Coyotes record now stands at 14-9.

The Redhawks (6-16) will now prepare for their contest against Memorial (Frisco, TX). The Warriors enter the 5A Region II District 10 contest with a 9-12 record. In their last contest, Memorial nudged Emerson (McKinney, TX), 64-59, in a league contest.
