Rio Grande City Rattlers (Rio Grande City, TX) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Roma Gladiators (Roma, TX), 55-54 in a league bout.

With the win, Rio Grande City upgrades its record to 15-12 on the season. The Rattlers travel to Palmview (La Joya, TX) to clash with the Lobos in a 5A Region IV District 30 bout on Tuesday, January 17. The Lobos go into the bout with a record of 21-7. Palmview won 66-38 in their recent league bout against Cigarroa (Laredo, TX)

Next up, the Gladiators clash with the Cigarroa Toros (Laredo, TX) in a 5A Region IV District 30 bout, on Tuesday, January 17. Roma will attempt to upgrade on its 12-9 season record. The Toros go into the bout with a 4-19 record after their 66-38 league loss to Palmview (La Joya, TX).
