Nixon Mustangs (Laredo, TX) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the visiting Roma Gladiators (Roma, TX), 82-49 in a league bout.

With the victory, Nixon upgrades its record to 11-11 on the campaign. The Mustangs travel to Mission Veterans Memorial (Mission, TX) to play the Patriots in a 5A Region IV District 30 bout on Friday, January 6. The Patriots come into the bout with a record of 6-8. Mission Veterans Memorial lost 73-28 in their recent league bout against Palmview (La Joya, TX)

Next up, the Gladiators play the Palmview Lobos (La Joya, TX) in a 5A Region IV District 30 bout, on Friday, January 6. Roma will attempt to upgrade on its 11-6 season record. The Lobos come into the bout with a 18-7 record after their 73-28 league win over Mission Veterans Memorial (Mission, TX).
