January 13, 2023: La Joya, TX 78560 Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Nixon Mustangs (Laredo, TX) and the host Juarez-Lincoln Huskies (La Joya, TX), saw Nixon's basketball squad wallop Juarez-Lincoln by a tally of 99-24.
With the victory, Nixon improves its record to 14-11 on the campaign. The Mustangs travel to Martin (Laredo, TX) to confront the Tigers in a 5A Region IV District 30 challenge on Tuesday, January 17. The Tigers come into the challenge with a record of 13-12. Martin won 59-32 in their recent league challenge against Mission Veterans Memorial (Mission, TX)
Next up, the Huskies confront the Mission Veterans Memorial Patriots (Mission, TX) in a 5A Region IV District 30 challenge, on Tuesday, January 17. Juarez-Lincoln will attempt to improve on its 0-19 season record. The Patriots come into the challenge with a 6-12 record after their 59-32 league loss to Martin (Laredo, TX).
