Nixon Mustangs (Laredo, TX) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the host Rio Grande City Rattlers (Rio Grande City, TX), 70-48 in a league bout.

With the victory, Nixon upgrades its record to 16-11 on the campaign. The Mustangs travel to Roma (Roma, TX) to play the Gladiators in a 5A Region IV District 30 bout on Tuesday, January 24. The Gladiators come into the bout with a record of 12-9.

Next up, the Rattlers play the Juarez-Lincoln Huskies (La Joya, TX) in a 5A Region IV District 30 bout, on Tuesday, January 24. Rio Grande City will attempt to upgrade on its 15-14 season record.
