Fans at Friday's non-league challenge between the South Point Red Raiders (Belmont, NC) and the host Ashbrook Greenwave (Gastonia, NC), saw South Point's basketball squad hold off Ashbrook by a count of 38-36.

With the victory, South Point upgrades its record to 3-6 on the campaign. The Red Raiders host North Gaston (Dallas, NC) to play the Wildcats in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, January 17. The Wildcats come into the challenge with a record of 1-9.

Next up, the Greenwave play the Huss Huskies (Gastonia, NC) in a challenge, on Tuesday, January 17. Ashbrook will attempt to upgrade on its 7-5 season record.
