Munster Mustangs (Munster, IN) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Kankakee Valley Kougars (Wheatfield, IN), 62-45 in a league bout.

With the win, Munster upgrades its record to 16-3 on the season. The Mustangs host Lake Station Edison (Lake Station, IN) to face the Fighting Eagles in a non-league game on Friday, January 19. The Fighting Eagles enter the game with a record of 12-6. Lake Station Edison lost 48-25 in their recent non-league game against Andrean (Merrillville, IN)

With the defeat, Kankakee Valley moves to 14-7 on the year. The Kougars host Andrean (Merrillville, IN) to face the Fighting 59ers in a Northwest Crossroads game on Friday, January 19.
