In Friday's non-league test, the Murphy Bulldogs (Murphy, NC) basketball squad trounced the host Blue Ridge Early College Bobcats (Cashiers, NC), by a final score of 99-37.

Next, the Bulldogs clash with the Gilmer Bobcats (Ellijay, GA) in a non-league test, on Saturday, January 18. Murphy will attempt to upgrade on its 8-4 season record. The Bobcats come into the test with a 7-8 record after their 66-57 league loss to Northwest Whitfield (Tunnel Hill, GA).

The Bobcats (2-8) will now prepare for their test against Swain County (Bryson City, NC). The Maroon Devils come into the 1A Smoky Mountain test with a 5-5 record. In their last test, Swain County bounced Summit Charter (Cashiers, NC), 77-39, in a non-league test.
