The Newport Buffaloes basketball squad (Newport, PA), was crushed 74-40 in Friday's league battle with the host Halifax Wildcats (Halifax, PA)

With the victory, Halifax advances its record to 12-3 on the year. The Wildcats host Dayspring Christian Academy (Mountville, PA) to meet the Warriors in a non-league battle on Friday, January 17. The Warriors enter the battle with a record of 9-4. Dayspring Christian Academy lost 62-25 in their recent non-league battle against York Country Day (York, PA)

The Buffaloes now own a 1-13 record. They put it on the line next when they host Juniata for a Tri-Valley battle on Monday, January 20. Newport will meet a Indians squad coming off a 59-35 non-league win over Belleville Mennonite (Belleville, PA). The Indians record now stands at 6-7.
