In Friday's league contest, the host Ashbrook Greenwave basketball team scored a big 59-13 triumph over the North Gaston Wildcats.

The Greenwave (6-8) will now prepare for their contest against Huss (Gastonia, NC). The Huskies go into the 3A Big South contest with a 10-4 record. In their last contest, Huss smashed Stuart W. Cramer (Belmont, NC), 61-50, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Wildcats battle the South Point Red Raiders (Belmont, NC) in a 3A Big South contest, on Tuesday, January 21. North Gaston will attempt to better on its 3-13 season record. The Red Raiders go into the contest with a 11-4 record after their 67-42 league win over Crest (Shelby, NC).
