Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the Lovejoy Leopards (Lucas, TX) and the visiting The Colony Cougars (The Colony, TX), saw Lovejoy's basketball squad hold off The Colony by a tally of 40-34.

With the victory, Lovejoy improves its record to 15-11 on the campaign. The Leopards travel to Wylie East (Wylie, TX) to play the Raiders in a 5A Region II District 10 challenge on Friday, January 21. The Raiders come into the challenge with a record of 14-9. Wylie East won 61-42 in their recent league challenge against Denison (Denison, TX)

Next, the Cougars encounter the Rock Hill Blue Hawks (Frisco, TX) in a 5A Region II District 10 test, on Friday, January 21. The Colony will attempt to advance on its 7-11 season record. The Blue Hawks go into the test with a 14-13 record after their 37-34 league win over Sherman (Sherman, TX).
