New Jersey High School Basketball - Long Branch can't hold off St. John-Vianney
January 22, 2024: Long Branch, NJ 07740 The St. John-Vianney Lancers basketball team scored 51 points and restricted the host Long Branch Green Wave to 49 in the Lancers non-league victory on Monday.
The Lancers now sport a 7-9 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Snyder for a non-league contest on Tuesday, January 23. St. John-Vianney will battle a Tigers team coming off a 65-36 non-league loss to East Side (Newark, NJ). The Tigers record now stands at 3-11.
The Green Wave (1-13) will now prepare for their contest against Raritan (Hazlet, NJ). The Rockets come into the non-league contest with a 2-13 record. In their last contest, Raritan was nudged by Ranney (Tinton Falls, NJ), 79-50, in a non-league contest.
