In Wednesday's league contest, the visiting Center Roughriders basketball team scored a close 56-51 triumph over the Hudson Hornets.

The Roughriders (14-6) will now prepare for their contest against Madisonville (Madisonville, TX). The Mustangs go into the 4A Region III District 17 contest with a 18-6 record. In their last contest, Madisonville nipped Palestine (Palestine, TX), 61-55, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Hornets battle the Bullard Panthers (Bullard, TX) in a 4A Region III District 17 contest, on Friday, January 24. Hudson will attempt to better on its 13-14 season record. The Panthers go into the contest with a 18-8 record after their 78-41 league win over Rusk (Rusk, TX).
