Mississippi High School Basketball - Leake Central knocked off by West Lauderdale
January 23, 2024: Carthage, MS 39051 The West Lauderdale Knights basketball team scored 71 points and held the host Leake Central Gators to 55 in the Knights league triumph on Tuesday.
The Knights now sport a 18-3 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Newton County for a 4A Region 4 contest on Friday, January 26. West Lauderdale will battle a Cougars team coming off a 85-65 league loss to Choctaw Central (Philadelphia, MS). The Cougars record now stands at 7-12.
The Gators (7-11) will now prepare for their contest against Northeast Lauderdale (Meridian, MS). The Trojans enter the 4A Region 4 contest with a 15-6 record. In their last contest, Northeast Lauderdale ran past Raleigh (Raleigh, MS), 58-28, in a non-league contest.
