January 26, 2024: Decatur, MS 39327 The West Lauderdale Knights topped the host Newton County Cougars basketball team by a final score of 71-51 in Friday's league game.
Coming up next, the Knights battle the Choctaw Central Warriors (Philadelphia, MS) in a 4A Region 4 battle, on Tuesday, January 30. West Lauderdale will attempt to better on its 19-3 season record. The Warriors come into the battle with a 20-5 record after their 100-71 league win over Leake Central (Carthage, MS).
The Cougars (7-13) will now prepare for their battle against Northeast Lauderdale (Meridian, MS). The Trojans come into the 4A Region 4 battle with a 16-7 record. In their last battle, Northeast Lauderdale prevailed over Kemper County (DeKalb, MS), 69-36, in a non-league battle.
