Mississippi High School Basketball - West Lauderdale thwarts Leake Central
January 5, 2024: Collinsville, MS 39325 The West Lauderdale Knights (Collinsville, MS) basketball knocked off the visiting Leake Central Gators (Carthage, MS), 73-57 in Friday's league test.
The Knights (15-2) will now prepare for their test against Newton County (Decatur, MS). The Cougars go into the 4A Region 4 test with a 6-8 record. In their last test, Newton County went down by Choctaw Central (Philadelphia, MS), 67-54, in a league test.
The Gators now own a 7-8 record. They play next when they travel to Northeast Lauderdale for a 4A Region 4 test on Tuesday, January 9. Leake Central will encounter a Trojans squad coming off a 71-64 league loss to Choctaw Central (Philadelphia, MS). The Trojans record now stands at 12-4.
