Morenci Wildcats (Morenci, AZ) supporters left the game happy Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad hold off the host Willcox Cowboys (Willcox, AZ), 45-38 in a league match.

With the victory, Morenci advances its record to 10-14 on the year. The Wildcats travel to Benson (Benson, AZ) to face the Bobcats in a 2A South match on Tuesday, January 28. The Bobcats enter the match with a record of 15-9. Benson won 54-30 in their recent non-league match against Chandler Prep (Chandler, AZ)

The Cowboys now own a 14-7 record. They put it on the line next when they host Tombstone for a 2A South match on Friday, January 24. Willcox will face a Yellow Jackets squad coming off a 78-9 league win over San Miguel (Tucson, AZ). The Yellow Jackets record now stands at 18-4.
