Louisiana High School Basketball - St. Augustine nips Holy Cross
January 24, 2023: New Orleans, LA 70119 Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the St. Augustine Purple Knights (New Orleans, LA) and the visiting Holy Cross Tigers (New Orleans, LA), saw St. Augustine's basketball squad hold off Holy Cross by a tally of 61-56.
With the victory, St. Augustine improves its record to 14-11 on the campaign. The Purple Knights host Brother Martin (New Orleans, LA) to play the Crusaders in a 5A District 9 challenge on Friday, January 27. The Crusaders come into the challenge with a record of 12-8. Brother Martin lost 59-56 in their recent league challenge against Holy Cross (New Orleans, LA)
Next up, the Tigers play the John Curtis Christian Patriots (River Ridge, LA) in a 5A District 9 challenge, on Friday, January 27. Holy Cross will attempt to improve on its 15-6 season record. The Patriots come into the challenge with a 13-4 record after their 47-43 league win over Jesuit (New Orleans, LA).
