The Union Bears (Appalachia, VA) basketball nipped the host Central Wise Warriors (Norton, VA), 36-35 in Tuesday's league test.

The Bears (10-6) will now prepare for their test against West Ridge (Blountville, TN). The Wolves go into the non-league test with a 6-8 record.

The Warriors now own a 13-4 record. They play next when they travel to Gate City for a Mountain test on Friday, January 27. Central Wise will encounter a Blue Devils squad coming off a 55-54 league win over Ridgeview (Clintwood, VA). The Blue Devils record now stands at 13-3.
