Fans at Wednesday's league challenge between the South Mecklenburg Sabres (Charlotte, NC) and the host Ardrey Kell Knights (Charlotte, NC), saw South Mecklenburg's basketball squad hold off Ardrey Kell by a count of 63-61.

With the victory, South Mecklenburg upgrades its record to 15-2 on the campaign. The Sabres travel to Olympic (Charlotte, NC) to play the Trojans in a 4A South Meck challenge on Friday, January 26. The Trojans come into the challenge with a record of 3-14. Olympic lost 49-48 in their recent league challenge against Berry (Charlotte, NC)

Next up, the Knights play the Cuthbertson Cavaliers (Waxhaw, NC) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, January 26. Ardrey Kell will attempt to upgrade on its 12-5 season record. The Cavaliers come into the challenge with a 3-14 record after their 59-44 league loss to Porter Ridge (Indian Trail, NC).
