Centennial Cougars (Circle Pines, MN) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the host Coon Rapids Cardinals (Coon Rapids, MN), 78-30 in a league bout.

With the win, Centennial upgrades its record to 11-7 on the season. The Cougars host Elk River (Elk River, MN) to play the Elks in a AAAA Section 8 bout on Monday, January 30. The Elks go into the bout with a record of 11-5. Elk River won 83-50 in their recent non-league bout against Totino-Grace (Fridley, MN)

Next up, the Cardinals play the St. Francis Fighting Saints (St. Francis, MN) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, January 28. Coon Rapids will attempt to upgrade on its 1-15 season record. The Fighting Saints go into the bout with a 4-11 record after their 58-48 league win over Chisago Lakes Area (Lindstrom, MN).
