Texas High School Basketball - Avery tops Union Hill
January 26, 2024: Avery, TX 75554 Avery Bulldogs (Avery, TX) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Union Hill Bulldogs (Gilmer, TX), 46-37 in a league bout.
With the victory, Avery upgrades its record to 16-14 on the campaign. The Bulldogs host Sulphur Bluff (Sulphur Bluff, TX) to play the Bears in a 1A Region III District 24 bout on Tuesday, January 30. The Bears come into the bout with a record of 22-9. Sulphur Bluff won 58-44 in their recent league bout against Yantis (Yantis, TX)
Next up, the Bulldogs play the Avinger Indians (Avinger, TX) in a 1A Region III District 24 bout, on Tuesday, January 30. Union Hill will attempt to upgrade on its 8-11 season record. The Indians come into the bout with a 2-18 record after their 59-25 league loss to Avery (Avery, TX).
