Texas High School Basketball - Gilmer nips Carthage
January 27, 2023: Carthage, TX 75633 Gilmer Buckeyes (Gilmer, TX) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Carthage Bulldogs (Carthage, TX), 47-46 in a league bout.
With the win, Gilmer upgrades its record to 8-12 on the season. The Buckeyes host Center (Center, TX) to play the Roughriders in a 4A Region III District 17 bout on Tuesday, January 31. The Roughriders go into the bout with a record of 21-4. Center won 62-33 in their recent league bout against Spring Hill (Longview, TX)
Next up, the Bulldogs face the Henderson Lions (Henderson, TX) in a 4A Region III District 17 game, on Tuesday, January 31. Carthage will attempt to move on its 2-7 season record. The Lions enter the game with a 6-21 record after their 50-22 league loss to Kilgore (Kilgore, TX).
