Texas High School Basketball - Gilmer holds off Carthage
January 3, 2023: Gilmer, TX 75644 Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the Gilmer Buckeyes (Gilmer, TX) and the visiting Carthage Bulldogs (Carthage, TX), saw Gilmer's basketball squad hold off Carthage by a tally of 75-72.
With the victory, Gilmer improves its record to 5-9 on the campaign. The Buckeyes travel to Center (Center, TX) to confront the Roughriders in a 4A Region III District 17 challenge on Friday, January 6. The Roughriders come into the challenge with a record of 16-3. Center won 67-43 in their recent league challenge against Spring Hill (Longview, TX)
Next up, the Bulldogs confront the Henderson Lions (Henderson, TX) in a 4A Region III District 17 challenge, on Friday, January 6. Carthage will attempt to improve on its 0-2 season record. The Lions come into the challenge with a 6-15 record after their 42-31 league loss to Kilgore (Kilgore, TX).
