The Swain County Maroon Devils basketball team scored 55 points and held the host Hayesville Yellowjackets to 46 in the Maroon Devils league triumph on Friday.

The Maroon Devils now sport a 9-10 record. They put it on the line next when they host Nantahala for a non-league contest on Monday, January 30. Swain County will battle a Hawks team coming off a 74-34 league loss to Hiwassee Dam (Murphy, NC). The Hawks record now stands at 2-11.

The Yellowjackets (11-8) will now prepare for their contest against Blue Ridge Early College (Cashiers, NC). The Bobcats enter the non-league contest with a 2-13 record. In their last contest, Blue Ridge Early College was defeated by Highlands (Highlands, NC), 59-52, in a league contest.
