The Veterans Memorial Patriots topped the host Smithson Valley Rangers basketball team by a final score of 63-48 in Friday's league game.

In their next game, the Patriots face the Seguin Matadors (Seguin, TX) in a 5A Region IV District 26 game, on Tuesday, January 31. Veterans Memorial will attempt to move on its 26-4 season record. The Matadors enter the game with a 18-9 record after their 74-71 league loss to Wagner (San Antonio, TX).

With the defeat, Smithson Valley moves to 5-18 on the year. The Rangers travel to Canyon (New Braunfels, TX) to face the Cougars in a 5A Region IV District 26 game on Tuesday, January 31.
