Maryland High School Basketball - Damascus holds off Northwood
January 29, 2024: Damascus, MD 20872 Fans at Monday's non-league challenge between the Damascus Hornets (Damascus, MD) and the visiting Northwood Gladiators (Silver Spring, MD), saw Damascus's basketball squad hold off Northwood by a tally of 51-44.
With the victory, Damascus improves its record to 5-8 on the campaign. The Hornets travel to Poolesville (Poolesville, MD) to confront the Falcons in a Montgomery 3A/2A North challenge on Monday, February 5. The Falcons come into the challenge with a record of 7-7.
Next up, the Gladiators confront the Seneca Valley Screamin' Eagles (Germantown, MD) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, January 30. Northwood will attempt to improve on its 5-10 season record. The Screamin' Eagles come into the challenge with a 4-11 record after their 75-67 non-league loss to Whitman (Bethesda, MD).
