The New Hanover Wildcats bounced the visiting Laney Buccaneers basketball squad by a final score of 61-24 in Friday's league outing.

Next, the Wildcats face the North Brunswick Scorpions (Leland, NC) in a 3A/4A Mideastern outing, on Tuesday, January 7. New Hanover will attempt to upgrade on its 8-4 season record. The Scorpions enter the outing with a 2-6 record after their 40-27 league loss to West Brunswick (Shallotte, NC).

The Buccaneers (6-5) will now prepare for their outing against South Brunswick (Southport, NC). The Cougars enter the 3A/4A Mideastern outing with a 6-3 record. In their last outing, South Brunswick was overwhelmed by Topsail (Hampstead, NC), 46-30, in a league outing.
