New Hanover Wildcats (Wilmington, NC) boosters left the game satisfied Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad notch a victory over the host Laney Buccaneers (Wilmington, NC), 34-25 in a league match.

With the victory, New Hanover upgrades its record to 16-6 on the year. The Wildcats host Kinston (Kinston, NC) to face the Vikings in a non-league match on Saturday, February 8. The Vikings enter the match with a record of 17-2. Kinston won 60-31 in their recent league match against South Lenoir (Deep Run, NC)

The Buccaneers now sport a 11-9 record. They put it on the line next when they host North Brunswick for a 3A/4A Mideastern match on Tuesday, February 11. Laney will face a Scorpions squad coming off a 52-41 league loss to West Brunswick (Shallotte, NC). The Scorpions record now stands at 3-15.
