The New Hanover Wildcats bounced the host North Brunswick Scorpions basketball squad by a final score of 48-17 in Tuesday's league outing.

Next, the Wildcats clash with the Ashley Screaming Eagle (Wilmington, NC) in a 3A/4A Mideastern outing, on Thursday, January 9. New Hanover will attempt to upgrade on its 9-4 season record. The Screaming Eagle enter the outing with a 7-7 record after their 44-37 league win over West Brunswick (Shallotte, NC).

The Scorpions (2-7) will now prepare for their outing against South Brunswick (Southport, NC). The Cougars enter the 3A/4A Mideastern outing with a 6-4 record. In their last outing, South Brunswick was overwhelmed by Laney (Wilmington, NC), 48-34, in a league outing.
