Connecticut High School Basketball - Wamogo Regional nips Nonnewaug
January 30, 2023: Woodbury, CT 06798 Fans at Monday's league challenge between the Wamogo Regional Warriors (Litchfield, CT) and the host Nonnewaug Chiefs (Woodbury, CT), saw Wamogo Regional's basketball squad hold off Nonnewaug by a count of 63-62.
With the victory, Wamogo Regional upgrades its record to 10-2 on the campaign. The Warriors host Housatonic (Falls Village, CT) to play the Mountaineers in a Berkshire challenge on Tuesday, January 31. The Mountaineers come into the challenge with a record of 0-2. Housatonic lost 56-29 in their recent non-league challenge against O'Brien RVT (Ansonia, CT)
Next up, the Chiefs play the Woodland Regional Hawks (Beacon Falls, CT) in a non-league challenge, on Wednesday, February 1. Nonnewaug will attempt to upgrade on its 5-10 season record. The Hawks come into the challenge with a 3-11 record after their 77-62 non-league win over St. Paul Catholic (Bristol, CT).
