Texas High School Basketball - Cushing crushes New Summerfield
January 30, 2024: New Summerfield, TX 75780 Cushing Bearkats (Cushing, TX) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the host New Summerfield Hornets (New Summerfield, TX), 59-27 in a league bout.
With the win, Cushing upgrades its record to 17-11 on the season. The Bearkats host Overton (Overton, TX) to play the Mustangs in a 2A Region III District 22 bout on Friday, February 2. The Mustangs go into the bout with a record of 21-3. Overton won 64-35 in their recent league bout against Mt. Enterprise (Mt. Enterprise, TX)
Next up, the Hornets play the Carlisle Indians (Price, TX) in a 2A Region III District 22 bout, on Friday, February 2. New Summerfield will attempt to upgrade on its 4-23 season record. The Indians go into the bout with a 6-8 record after their 57-41 league loss to Cushing (Cushing, TX).
