George Washington Patriots (Charleston, WV) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting South Charleston Black Eagles (South Charleston, WV), 65-51 in a league bout.

With the win, George Washington upgrades its record to 7-0 on the season. The Patriots travel to Spring Valley (Huntington, WV) to play the Timberwolves in a Mountain State bout on Friday, January 6. The Timberwolves go into the bout with a record of 6-1. Spring Valley won 51-48 in their recent league bout against Hurricane (Hurricane, WV)

Next up, the Black Eagles play the Capital Cougars (Charleston, WV) in a Mountain State bout, on Friday, January 6. South Charleston will attempt to upgrade on its 2-3 season record. The Cougars go into the bout with a 2-2 record after their 70-65 league loss to St. Albans (St. Albans, WV).
