The North Tahoe Lakers (Tahoe City, CA) basketball edged the host Pershing County Mustangs (Lovelock, NV), 40-37 in Saturday's league bout.

The Lakers now possess a 5-6 record. They play next when they travel to Sierra Lutheran for a 2A Northern bout on Tuesday, January 7. North Tahoe will play a Falcons team coming off a 36-12 league loss to Battle Mountain (Battle Mountain, NV). The Falcons record now stands at 0-7.
