The Covington Chargers tipped the visiting Millington Central Trojans basketball team by a final score of 81-74 in Friday's league game.

In their next game, the Chargers face the Haywood Tomcats (Brownsville, TN) in a non-league game, on Saturday, January 6. Covington will attempt to move on its 2-8 season record. The Tomcats enter the game with a 11-5 record after their 87-68 non-league win over Jackson North Side (Jackson, TN).

With the defeat, Millington Central moves to 9-8 on the year. The Trojans host Raleigh-Egypt (Memphis, TN) to face the Pharaohs in a 3A District 15 game on Tuesday, January 9. The Pharaohs enter the game with a record of 3-6. Raleigh-Egypt lost 82-79 in their recent league game against Craigmont (Memphis, TN)
