Ohio High School Basketball - Avon Lake nudges Elyria

Avon Lake Shoremen (Avon Lake, OH) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Elyria Pioneers (Elyria, OH), 63-60 in a league bout.

With the win, Avon Lake upgrades its record to 9-0 on the season. The Shoremen host Olmsted Falls (Olmsted Falls, OH) to clash with the Bulldogs in a Southwestern bout on Tuesday, January 10. The Bulldogs go into the bout with a record of 3-8. Olmsted Falls lost 68-52 in their recent non-league bout against East (Akron, OH)

Next up, the Pioneers clash with the Oberlin The Phoenix (Oberlin, OH) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, January 7. Elyria will attempt to upgrade on its 4-5 season record. The The Phoenix go into the bout with a 4-6 record after their 74-51 league win over Clearview (Lorain, OH).
