January 6, 2023: Hoopeston, IL 60942 Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Hoopeston Cornjerkers (Hoopeston, IL) and the visiting Milford Bearcats (Milford, IL), saw Hoopeston's basketball squad overcome Milford by a tally of 65-51.
With the victory, Hoopeston improves its record to 9-8 on the campaign. The Cornjerkers travel to Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley (Gibson City, IL) to confront the Falcons in a non-league challenge on Saturday, January 7. The Falcons come into the challenge with a record of 11-4. Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley lost 70-64 in their recent league challenge against Tremont (Tremont, IL)
Next up, the Bearcats confront the Oakwood Comets (Fithian, IL) in a Vermilion Valley challenge, on Tuesday, January 10. Milford will attempt to improve on its 11-7 season record. The Comets come into the challenge with a 13-5 record after their 74-47 league win over Chrisman (Chrisman, IL).
