The Polk County Wolverines basketball squad (Columbus, NC), was crushed 69-44 in Tuesday's league battle with the host R-S Central Hilltoppers (Rutherfordton, NC)

With the victory, R-S Central advances its record to 6-6 on the year. The Hilltoppers travel to Patton (Morganton, NC) to meet the Panthers in a 1A/2A Mountain Foothills 7 battle on Thursday, January 9. The Panthers enter the battle with a record of 5-8. Patton won 74-66 in their recent league battle against East Rutherford (Forest City, NC)

The Wolverines now own a 2-10 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Chase for a 1A/2A Mountain Foothills 7 battle on Tuesday, January 14. Polk County will meet a Trojans squad coming off a 67-51 league loss to Brevard (Brevard, NC). The Trojans record now stands at 1-13.
