Clifton Central Comets (Clifton, IL) backers were in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Illinois Lutheran Chargers (Crete, IL), 46-26 in a league bout.

With the win, Clifton Central upgrades its record to 9-6 on the season. The Comets travel to Donovan (Donovan, IL) to play the Wildcats in a River Valley bout on Tuesday, January 10. The Wildcats go into the bout with a record of 8-6. Donovan won 57-55 in their recent non-league bout against Watseka (Watseka, IL)

Next up, the Chargers play the Beecher Bobcats (Beecher, IL) in a River Valley bout, on Tuesday, January 10. Illinois Lutheran will attempt to upgrade on its 2-11 season record. The Bobcats go into the bout with a 17-1 record after their 64-48 non-league win over Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin (Bismarck, IL).
